While NIC’s focus is primarily on the soft gel, the traditional hard shell still has benefits all on its own. It has the same benefits as the soft gel capsule, but the hard shell capsule specializes in small doses of powder material. Like soft gels, it has a wide array of customization options, both for its aesthetic appearance and therapeutic content. The main difference between the soft gel and the hard shell capsule is that the hard shell capsule cannot contain liquids.

The traditional hard shell capsule offers the following advantages:

• The capsule has a simpler manufacturing process than a soft gel capsule, and can be a more cost-effective alternative.
• Like tablets, capsules are ideal for modified-release formulations.
• Two colours can be used due to the capsule’s design.
